Xiaomi Mi4c: Another hit from Xiaomi?
Xiaomi has been on a roll recently. Their extremely popular Note 2 sold more than 800,000 units within the first 24 hours of its release. Now, Xiaomi Mi4c want to achieve the same level of success.
Xiaomi Mi4c is a successor to Xiaomi Mi4i. The previous device was plagued with performance and optimisation problems, which never got completely solved.
This time, Xiaomi also went for 5-inch full HD display and a simple plastic body. The smartphone is aesthetically pleasing and fits well in hands thanks to its smaller size. The market is getting very saturated with big, 5.5+ phones and it is nice to see something new as an alternative.
All photography lovers out there will be pleased to know that they get 13 MP rear camera and capable 5 MP camera in the front. They produce very nice, sharp images even under less than ideal weather and lighting conditions. 6-core Snapdragon 808 chipset ensures that taking pictures is a smooth experience. The same can be said for the rest of the operating system. Opening and closing applications, browsing the web, multitasking, and 3D gaming works without a single glitch.
There are two different models to choose from. One has 2 GB of ram and 16 GB of internal storage space and the other one has 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage space. None of them lets you use SD cards to further expand their storage but both have dual SIM card slots.
Other notable features include USB Type C and Edge Tap. The USB is not actually the fastest version (3.0) so don’t expect blazing fast transfer speeds. The Edge Tap is a very handy way how to quickly take a photo. You simply tap your finger on the outer edge of the smartphone and camera software will register it as a trigger press.
Available for something over $200, Xiaomi Mi4c is a good choice for people who are looking to purchases a smartphone that will fit comfortably into a hand.
