Google+ Photos is Shutting down
Google announced that they are going to shut down their Google+ Photo in order to switch their users to a new Google Photos application.
Google+ Photo is to be shut down as of August 1st – first on Android, and later on the Web and iOS. Google Photos gives you an unlimited storage space for your photos and videos for free and lets you organize them in a way that suits your needs and preferences.
The new Google Photos app is available from Play Store and gives you an assortment of interesting functions. You can search though your photos by the people, places and things that are present in them. You can just type “fish” to find all photographs containing any kind of fish, even if the photo description is blank. You can choose between an unlimited plan but at the cost of picture quality since your photos will be resized or you can store up to 15 GB of pictures in their original quality.
The app can also create montages, interactive stories, collages, animations, editor your photos, and more.
If you don’t update to this new version of Google+ Photo you will be notified to do otherwise Google+ Photo will stop working.
It will be interesting to see how things develop in the future, since it is entirely possible that Google is disintegrating Google+ into a assortment of separate products. In the past, Google was very aggressive when it came to Google+marketing and promotion and people did not like it. So maybe Google took noticed and decided that it would be the best not to force Google+ on everybody and let their apps exist and function more independently.
