Gabriel Knight Coming to Android on July 23rd
Phoenix Online Studios announced that they will be releasing a remake of the 1993 classic Sierra hit Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Fathers 20th Anniversary Edition on July 23rd.
Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Fathers is a point-and-click adventure game written, designed and directed by Jane Jensen and first released on PC in 1993. It is the first game of the Gabriel Knight series and follows the eponymous Gabriel Knight, owner of a rare book store and fledgling writer, as he investigates a series of local murders he plans to use as the basis for his new novel. The story of this game unfolds over a sequence of “days”, each of which has a required set of actions to be performed before proceeding to the next.
The remake was first released by Phoenix Online Studios on October 15, 2014, and improved on basically every aspect of the original game, including graphics, soundtrack, gameplay, and added new puzzles.
The mobile version should include all the features and more:
- Gorgeous high-res 3D backgrounds and models with more New Orleans flavor
- The classic Gabriel Knight soundtrack, rescored and reorchestrated by original composer Robert Holmes
- A tiered in-game hint system
- All-new special edition material, including behind-the-scenes material from the original Gabriel Knight, from concept art to storyboards and more, plus new interviews with members of the original team
The first day of the game will be available for free and additional days will be available as an in-app purchases for $2.99 and $3.99.
