Doogee HomTom: 6250 mAh Battery Monster
More and more smartphone makers are realizing that customers do not care if their phone has the latest and awesomest CPU or screen technology if it does not stay on for more than 5 hours.
Chinese smartphone maker Doogee just introduced a very interesting phone with 6 250 mAh battery which should definitively get you through the day. This beefy battery is squeezed inside a 9.9 mm body.
With lithium batteries of this capacity, charging can take a really long time and ruin an otherwise a perfectly fine phone. Fortunately, HomTom solves this problem by implementing a MediaTek technology called PumpExpress Plus which enables you to charge your phone from 0% to 75% in just 30 minutes. No special cables are needed and Pump Express-enabled devices are compatible with existing USB mains chargers, but fast charging is only possible with a Pump Express-enabled chargers.
Doogee HomTom is powered by quad-core MediaTek MT6735. This super-mid range chipset features integrated 4G LTE WorldMode and support for 720P HD displays and 1080p Full HD video recording and playback.
As the large battery would suggest, HomTop has a large 5.5 inch 720p display. The phone should also have a main 13 Mpx camera from Sony and front-facing 5 Mpx shooter.
Doogee HomTom should be available in September of this year, but there is currently no information about its price.Doogee is known for changing the specifications of their phones on the last minute and I would not be surprised at all if this would happen again with this phone. Their last big release – Doogee Valencia 2 Y100 Pro – has a different chipset, lower battery and is made from different material than the company announced initially when the phone was on pre-sale. It seems that Doogee is slowly building an unfavorable reputation among western customers. Let’s hope that this trend will stop with Doogee HomTop.
